“ My wife got the Lancaster County Amish chicken with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts, and I had fish n chips. The food was amazing, as well the atmosphere. We sat in the side room that is more for the laid back vibe. It has big windows that overlooks the outside patio entertaining area. The service was phenomal! We were in and out in less than an hour. Would definitely recommend! ”
“ TL,DR... Great place, awesome friendly staff, incredibly great tasting food and the owner is super nice. Our group of 4 was there last night for the first time and I so wished that I took pics of the food. We had the crab cake sandwich and French fries... Now, back story, I'm originally from MD and I'm super picky about crab anything. I'm also I self proclaimed fry snob... Anyway... The crab cakes were amazing and I just could not stop eating the fries. The staff was super nice to us and even though we showed up 10 minutes before the kitchen closed they never rushed us. The owner even stopped by our table to introduce himself and we chatted a bit. Overall the experience was great, the background music style was perfect for us and not to loud. I did get a really good pic of the bar right after closing. Definite go to fire a drink or food. Parking is also out back. Most people don't know that. ”
“ From the moment we pulled up to the restaurant until we left it was an absolute awesome experience. The building is beautiful outside and in. The staff was extremely helpful and professional. The food itself was unlike anything ive tasted. I had a cowboy ribeye with brussel sprouts and cheesy orzo. Cooked perfectly. My fiance had shrimp margarita flatbread. And as if those two dishes weren't jaw droppingly delicious enough we had the calamari. I have to say i have eaten this dish hundreds of times in countless dozens of restaurants in several states. And this calamari at 1762 is the hands down absolute best. This dish alone is worth the trip. If you have not eaten at this establishment you are missing out on a true culinary experience. The owner David has nailed it again. As if his 1st restaurant babes in Palmyra PA wasn't impressive enough he opened this place 3yrs ago and another homerun. Located in beautiful hummelstown pa. Go and eat here you will not be disappointed. ”
“ First time here and we loved it! David, the owner, greeted us at the door and the staff was super friendly. The food was amazing. great quality and full of flavor. Nice atmosphere too. We’ll definitely be back! ”
“ The staff was friendly, food was delicious, and it was clean. We ordered wings and fries..I also got a Pineapple Express. Everything 10/10.. Jensen was my sever. She was really sweet, personable ,and customer service skills were the best. ”
“ A cut above the rest in the area. There’s a few upper scale restaurants, and I don’t think their food quality comes close to The 1762. The quality of the ingredients is so noticeable. The meat was cooked to perfection. The owner was super hospitable, and our server was helpful, friendly, and attentive. The environment was comfortable, and just an overall fantastic experience. Thanks to the whole crew - I can’t wait to return. ”
“ I was visiting family in the area and picked 1762 on a whim, thinking it looked like a cool spot. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. From the moment we walked in, the experience exceeded expectations. The owner personally came over to chat—genuinely personable and clearly passionate about his place. You can tell he truly values his customers. Our server was equally welcoming, attentive, and eager to help. We started with the truffle fries to share, and they were a huge hit—even with two notoriously picky eaters at the table. For my main, I ordered the sirloin with mashed potatoes and maple-glazed carrots. Every bite hit the spot—comforting, flavorful, and well-balanced. But the standout moment for me was the smoked old fashioned. I’ve had this drink at countless spots—smoked and not, hundreds of times over the years. Without hesitation, I can say this was the best old fashioned I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, richly smoked, and beautifully presented. If you’re a fan of this classic cocktail, 1762 is worth the trip for that alone. ”
“ This place is a phenomenal hidden gen. Everything from the ingredient sourcing to the cocktail prep is top notch and carefully curated in an interesting, unique, and reasonably concise menu. The cocktails have complex layers and are hard not to chug. The beer selection is wide and fresh (honorable mention to the Ever Grain Kolsch). Desserts were decadent but not sugary. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ingredients used. ”
